Interesting that the HMCo Alan Lee centenary sets appear to have two different sized box-sets and books, the UK John Howe set has two different sized books and box-set as well.
I think some of these may have been "proof" sets to try out ideas on size of book and box-size.

Quite possibly. As far as I can tell, The HMCO DJ, covers, pricing and books have identical size, paper quality and copyright page details. The nameless box is definitely a few mm taller.
Just need the encore edition. Someone is selling on ebay, but asking too much for a tattery edition.

Well done on the father Christmas letters - have been trying to find that one myself..!
May I ask where you found it and for how much?

Some good acquisitions there everyone!
This arrived for me yesterday. “Signed copy available from the Bodleian? Why not! Oh yes, flat rate shipping no matter what I order, I guess I can add a few more things… ?”

That's the way you make flat shipping worth it!
Demis, Snapped it up from ebay (AU site) as it was listed, for $25AUD.
My default filter in ebay is Tolkien, worldwide, "show new listings since last visit" & sort by most recent. Have similar filters for hobbit etc just in case the seller, for some reason, doesn't use the world tolkien in the listing (it happens).

Thank you. Can I ask - is this a one volume in a sleeve or it’s more volumes like the poems version?
