On the hunt for a first printing of the 2020 Illustrated Alan Lee box set. Either the entire set or just any one of the books from the set will suffice. Trying to make my 2020-2022 matte hardcover editions all first printings. So far have been successful except for obtaining this set. So if anyone has these they would be willing to part with just let me know the price. I'll even ship you the boxset I have on top of paying for yours. Thanks!

Uh, that price wasn't great; although you do get a nice slipcase (looks like a DM one) thrown in.
I was merely intending to point out that these are out there. The 2021 ill. S has only been reprinted twice (to my knowledge), and are still mostly being sold new. First impressions are certainly out there, lurking in plain sight.
So I currently have a 4th printing of it that I got about 3 weeks ago.
And it wasn't until this past week I decided to switch my collection to all to first printings. I've been searching for one pretty heavily the last few days though. Between Ebay, AbeBooks, Biblio, and different Tolkien Sites that sell his stuff, I have not been able to track one down. (Ill admit I didnt think to check the UK's version of EBay). And while Im sure they are out there in plain sight and I've only being searching the past few days, no one was listing the print number in the selling description or had a picture showing the copyright page verifying the print. And if they did it wasnt a 1st printing. It was not until today that I decided to post around on forums and different sites asking for them. While the price isnt the best Im just glad to have gotten one in short time.
