Because of my never ending Hobbit quest, two more Hobbits arrived yesterday that I was fortunate to come across.
3rd edition, 17th impression GA&U Hobbit, 1967. Was a complimentary copy that was sent by Rayner Unwin, his personal presentation card is still enclosed.
Also a 2nd Edition, 23rd impression HMCO Hobbit, 1967. Complimentary issue from Anne Ford from Houghton Mifflin. Her presentation card is still clipped to the first fly leaf. (The paperclip has been on there a while)
Both came from one of the founders of the Tolkien Society of America who lived in the New Hampshire area.

at this point you will command the market for hobbits due to you having 99.9% of the ones with nice jackets. lol

Don't know about all that. There are plenty of members here that could give me a run for my money, Trotter, LanceFormation or Beren for example
Nice video Mr. Underhill! I always enjoy seeing images of the early US 2nd edition Hobbits stacked together in order to see the different colors.
Nice job Mr. Underhill! Great to see all this info brought together so succinctly. One question... is it known for sure that 15th and 16th printings do not exist or just seems likely based on the extant evidence? Any source other than Frisby's work? Always curious to learn more!
...oh also, don't forget the 7th printing also comes in a "rust brown" colored binding (very similar but I think maybe not identical to the 8th printing) in addition to the "khaki' color

Thanks Berelach, obviously your website was the cornerstone of my article. I used Frisby's work and the University of Reading for most of the research as well. You're right, it's not 100% that the 15th and 16th prints don't exist. I have never seen any rightly identified nor has anyone I have ever talked to about it. It may be that those 3 prints were done in three batches, but without copyright pages. I tend to place all in the 17th print category, although I know some like to refer to them as 15-17 prints.

Haha noo I don't think so. Both sources I used for my site had copies so there must be a few more out there, that Hobbit wiki has a pic of his spine next to the 8th. For myself I'm still trying to find a copy of the khaki one!
