I thought some might be interested in this.
I bought a copy of Journeys of Frodo, a first printing paperback and in rather good condition, but what's really nice is that it included a note from the author Barbara Strachey, thanking Marilyn Edwards (then a sales representative for GA&U) for having made the suggestion that caused Rayner Unwin to write to Barbara Strachey in the first place - "I should never have dreamt of getting it published otherwise!"
Marilyn Edwards became a known author in her own right, and died in 2017. An obituary appeared in The Guardian (https://www.theguardian.com/books/2017 ... marilyn-edwards-obituary) and was written by Brian Alderson, who I imagine is likely the same Brian Alderson who wrote the Hobbit 50th Anniversary commemorative booklet.
