I don't normally get three packages in one day, but today was a happy one: a later set of US first editions arrived (later impressions than the ones I posted earlier this week) and two of the boxed sets of the UK second editions. The one set still has really nice, colorful spines, which I love.

So not sure what that is. The description of the letter on TolkienGateway and from the seller makes no mention of that being a second little drawing (where the description does describe the holly). It could even be an odd smudge. When I get the letter in hand I’ll look closely.
