Here is a derivative product from the animated movie targeted to young children. It is a memory “Recall Game” from Milton Bradley distributed in the US (internationally also?)
It is still partially sealed so I haven’t opened the tray to verify the picture cards that came with the game.

I have previously shown the vinyl single record of the “disco” version of the movie theme, by the Aragorn Ballroom Orcestra, well this is the 12” version. This version has a themed sleeve with the tag line “Boogie … Beyond Your Imagination”.

These really echo the 70’s style as you mentioned before. I can hear Meco’s Star Wars arrangements when listening to Aragorn Ballroom…
This is the book of the film. This is a hardback book published by Ballantine Books and has the Lord of the Rings story (as it is in the movie) with images from the movie.
This is a Starburst magazine volume 1 issue 11 from July 1979 which has a review of the movie. It has a small image from the movie on the front cover.

AndyBirdUK do you happen to have Vol. 1 Issue 9 with the making of the movie? I am curious as to if the article in that issue is terse or a little more extensive.

I do yes, the article is 4 full pages, but with big pictures, and a nice cover.
