Hello everyone, I'm looking for help regarding sizes of the different impressions of LOTR UK first edition.
I know some are smaller (i.e. FOTR second impression), I'd like to know if their sizes are listed somewhere or at least if anyone here is able to point out the odd ones.
I'm asking cause I'd like to try acquiring early impressions and I'd love them to be of similar size
To my knowledge, the shorter ones concern only Fellowship of the Ring. The shorter ones are 2nd impression, 3rd impression and the first batch of the 7th impression.
I'm not sure it applies only to FOTR, look at this link:
TTT is a 4th impression and seems definitely shorter than the other two.
Looking at the image with all the books standing upright with the spines facing out, it looks like the surface is not level and the Two Towers is standing lower in a dip.
LanceFormation : you're definitely right. Picture 4 of this listing shows the 3 books having the same height. I never heard about a shorter UK two towers impression.
