The book inside the giftset has the same ISBN as the prior slipcased edition: 9780007440832

I bought both of these when they were released, so I am pretty sure I have first states of both.

The book in the slipcased edition has the number "1" and "Printed and bound in Italy by / Rotolito Lombarda" (and for whatever reason, the b in Lombarda is actually small-caps, not a lower case letter).

The book in the giftset edition has the number "1" and "Printed and bound in China by RR Donnelley APS"

Yes, both are impression 1 in both the slipcase and set.

I did remember this article trotter but the embarassing fact of how little of it that stuck in my head is now revealed.

I recall some people showing the facsimile 2016 edition on FB which was a first impression, but with the Wilderland & Thror maps being in the wrong places. Most editions were ok, however. Fortunately that was never repeated.
