Interestingly (or not as the case may be), There is also a 22nd Print with the HMCO Imprint. The right hand side of the numberline is different though.
I think 36 print might be correct here, which would mark it as a 1st thus. Seems like these will be readily available very soon.

Do you think that might indicate 2022, 36th printing rather?
Yes - was probably posting to quickly without thinking. That does make more sense.
But curious then - that would make the previous printing (HMCO) a 2022 77th Printing.
How do you go from 77th to 36th?
Obviously a new (to me) numberline system in any case.

Hmmmm, that is a bit of a mystery...The old HMCO number line makes sense to me as they kept it going from the 1st '38 Hobbit onward, however it stands to reason that the new Clarion volume would be a 1 forwards or 78 forwards.

I got one 3 weeks ago on ebay. Didn't realize it was new, just liked how it looked, it seemed unique.

Do you all know what “LBC” in the Clarion copyright line means? And “LSB” in the HMCo line?
I don't know those particular acronyms but in general those indicate the printer used for that particular copy.

Thank you Urulókë.
I was wondering that if the interpretation of the printing numberline is correct, is it possible that since HarperCollins is reissuing US editions under their umbrella they decided to reset the printing number to align with the latest UK impression? And that would account for going from 77th printing back to 36th?
