Shame that The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales are included - I have enough copies of these already. Otherwise I would be very interested in the remaining volumes.

It is worth noting that both will feature reset pagination which will make cross-refs to other volumes much easier. Obviously it depends on ones mileage of course.

wasn't this at 65 quid on Amazon the other day?
Yes, it has risen sharply back to around the price it listed at. It may drop back down again as that is how Amazon often stimulate pre-orders.
This is such fabulous news; I was actually finally about to buy the three-hardback box set (I only have HoME digitally), having assumed that they would not be doing them in the matte style, and the new set came up in the search replies. Sure the old box set is reduced by £80 now, but that unified-look shelf is going to look SO GOOD.
Will these editions mark all of the professor's Middle-Earth fictional material being released in the matte style/format now? Or am I forgetting something?

They have released the Tales from the Perilous Realm in the series but I suppose they could potentially do the expanded Adventures of Tom Bombadil with Findegil's excellent commentary. I would actually welcome the Treasures box titles in a larger hardcover.
The one that stands out is the recently reprinted Road Goes Ever On but it doesn't suit the format.
They could silently reprint Sigurd and Gudrun with a matte cover but that is obviously outside the legendarium.
