With the arrival of a Methuen Silmarillion copy (and a custom clamshell for one of my signed copies), I now have a complete run of first edition - first impressions of the Silmarillion edited by Georges Allen & Unwin.

With signatures of Baillie Tolkien, Adam and Rachel Tolkien (children of Christopher and Baillie), and Royd Tolkien, all obtained at Aubusson in June 2023. Housed in a beautiful custom leather clamshell crafted by David Miller (TolkienBookshelf)

Urulókë : yes the hunt began in 2018 with the export edition : I got it in a lot with 10 of the first editions of the UK HoME hardbacks.
I had some very nice oppportunities these last months for both the super deluxe and the methuen, helping me to complete the series of Silmarillions first GA&U edition run.
This collection is very special to me, especially with the domestic edition signed by Christopher : I also lived with this copy for 3 days when I was in Aubusson last june, watching it signed little by little by the members of the Tolkien family.
This is really the heart and soul of my library. I feel lucky to have them ❤️
