HarperCollins has released all the covers for the full set, including the Index, which is only available as a paperback.
The Kindle version covers have already been updated, but for paperbacks the new designs will appear as the existing books need reprints, so I would not advise ordering just yet to get the new copies.
I love the covers and colour use on these editions.
I agree these are lovely. I especially love the blue and dark grey covers. I don't mind differentiating the volumes by color, but it's a bit of a shame there's not a way to get a full set in a solid, matching color with these designs. Having the heraldic devices as the central image on each cover is also a very nice touch.
Have added the Index, which is a fantastic design.
If you want to get these new paperbacks, HarperCollins hope to have them all available for sale for the release of the final hardback boxed-set later this year, but they will be released as reprints are called for, which could be out of order.
Interesting with the different colour covers throughout. And it means the Hobbit and LotR will fit in better now. I agree the cover designs are lovely, especially the Index. Oh bother, shall I collect them after all?

I will be getting all of these.
No information yet on US editions, but if they come out they will probably be same designs but have Tolkien's signature at the bottom of the cover not the top.
These are absolutely fantastic. I have to be sensible as I am not a collector and these would be indulgence gone mad on my part given my lack of space for the new stuff that have coming this year. But these designs are exactly what I would want in a paperback if I were coming to collecting the series now.
Sensible? Apparently I am showing my age 😅
Trotter, very much looking forward to seeing the final image of them together.
These covers are absolutely fantastic ! Can't wait to add them to my collection. I was wondering if we have news about The Children of Hurin paperbak with the red/brown background to match Beren and Luthien and The Fall of Gondolin? I found an ISBN for what it seems the William Morrow edition, according to the price point (which is similar to the other 2 WM editions) : https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/prod ... 379725?a_aid=tolkienguide
As B&L and TFoG are new editions with specific ISBN, maybe CoH will have a new one as well?

This will probably be released soon, when they reprint the paperback, hopefully in the next couple of months.
Throw in The Nature of Middle-earth (and a visually sympathetic Children Of Hurin,Beren+Luthien,Fall Of Gondolin and Letters paperbacks) into the Wizard's hat and then you have me interested in purchasing the whole paperback history but,oh dear,my groaning bookshelves
