You're going to have to be more specific about what upcoming books you are talking about then - when you replied, the last books mentioned here were the US editions coming in August/September. They are definitely not in shops yet, they haven't been printed/bound at this time.

Trotter was talking about the US versions of these collector's editions.
These US versions are not out yet, as you can see in the previous page, and they *might* differ from their UK counterparts in several aspects (binding, edges, etc...).
So his advice was to wait and see before having a definitive judgement.
Edit : my message crossed with yours Urulókë
Are you perhaps thinking about the UK/HarperCollins books of similar (but different) design?Old Man Willow wrote:

The US/William Morrow books don't release until late summer (Aug/Sept).
If you are referring to the HarperCollins versions it's worth noting that the price point on the re-issue dropped a fair amount from when they released as cloth-bound in 2013. The HarperCollins ones at this point are more or less a budget-friendly hardcover IMO.

I spot Rover, Chrysophylax, Tom's feather and Niggle's Tree. I guess the moon is for Smith?
It is the same design as the Deluxe edition, Alan Lee design.

Pictures of the new book, I have noticed that it does not contain the corrected text for Leaf by Niggle, so is out of step with the latest hardback edition. It is labelled as an 18th Impression.
I will not be getting these paperbacks except the Tom Bombadil volume but that green is really lovely. Far more bold than I expected it would be. Looks very smart.
I simply can’t fit in more paperbacks, but I have to say that these look very nice. I’ll look forward to seeing all of them lined up eventually. I really like how the colours they’re using really makes each books motif stand out well. Very vibrant.
What is the corrected text for Leaf by Niggle? I did a quick comparison and found many differences:
