Hi all!
Wanted to finally show off my library 🧙♂️
Wanted to finally show off my library 🧙♂️
Thank you! Been at it since 2002 (as you can see in the last photo, but the older editions: those were my first copies, the older ones)
Note: I'm not the greatest at taking photos, and the lighting is not ideal. If anyone has any questions about any of these (due to visibility issues or otherwise) you're more than welcome to ask here in this thread, or even shoot a message if that's more ideal for you.
Mods (or Admins, whichever term is appropriate) - any FUTURE additions will get tagged as ‘recent acquisitions.’ Since nothing in these photos is ‘new’/recent, that’s why I used the ‘books’ tag.

If you’re getting the new boxed sets (HoM-e, that is), may as well wait haha! A paperback one could be cheaper.
I got this (and the other On-Demand Facsimile Editions in the same photo) for initial 40 pound price tag 😳

Man I love that red and gold hobbit too! Just gorgeous!
Yeah I’m going to collect both; the new ones and a set of the first editions. 👍

Nice to see your collection, Scarlet_Sorcerer. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah! It definitely is, but what’s interesting, is that it got only one print run of 2,000 copies. I found that out later last year. One of the reasons why I got it - aside from ‘hey it’s an edition I want’ - is that it differs from HarperCollins usual deluxe editions (back in 2013, they just had the 1 style but I meant size and design-wise): also why, in that sense, I got the 2014 ‘big blue’ Alan Lee LotR right next to it). So I initially got it as an ‘attractive oddity’ that turned out to be rare/valuable!
