Found this abridged (the) "Hobbit", which got me wondering what other overseas publications printed in English, collectors here might have to show.

I have the same edition of ‘The Hobbit’ as ‘wheresrob’, and I would add that the adventure with the trolls is omitted here, and the beginning of the chapter 2 is added to the chapter 3, so the numeration shifted, and chapter 2 is titled ‘A Short Rest’ etc. See the images of page 25 (end of the ‘original’ chapter 2) and 26 (the continuation is taken from the original chapter 3). That’s why in this version only in Rivendell ‘Elrond gave Gandalf and Thorin each a sword; and Bilbo got a knife in a leather sheath’ (p. 29). The transcription of the names is also interesting here (along with the hairy legs brushed by the hobbit).

I would also draw your attention to the recent acquisition of the respected Hobbit Hunter (
https://hobbithunter.nl/new-hobbit-has-arrived-82/). This rare edition issued in 1992 contains the recap of ‘The Hobbit’ in Russian accompanied by the English language tasks. The plot in the last part of the book is also changed (page 38, I’ve made the translation into English.)
“Now the Dwarves became the owners of the treasure again. Thorin shared his wealth with the inhabitants of the destroyed town, and they, with the help of the forest Elves, began to build a new town on the shore of the lake. Having learned about the death of the dragon, many Dwarves from distant lands moved to the Lonely Mountain to settle in the underground city, as many years ago. But the news of what had happened reached the goblins, and a whole army of them, along with wolves, came to the mountain to take away the treasure.”
