These are the letters that David Miller withdrew from sale last year after problems with the text and signature.
They are remarkably similiar to the "Higgins" and "Hooper" letters and I suspect all these "letters" could all be done by the same person, and I am sure that is not Tolkien.

Not really sure now if these have already been posted (perhaps we should have a more systematic way of doing this?), but anyway, what do people think about these:
The Hobbit Signed J.R.R. Tolkien Lord of the Rings
JRR Tolkien Handwritten Letter Signed Autographed ALS
(I know that bidding has already ended for them, but I am still interested to know if they might be authentic)

The Michael Tolkien book is certainly authentic - I have one or two examples myself. I know the vendor; he's a good honest dealer.
Agree with garm. This dealer is good and always honest when i have had dealings with him. Bit pricey but a nice book with history
The Michael Tolkien item is definitely legitimate.
Although I haven't seen this particular item, orcraider has sold two Michael Tolkien items (on eBay) very recently both of which I had offered to me privately from a reputable PBFA/ABA book dealer. I know this dealer sold one or two through eBay, back in late 2007, and presume orcraider bought a few of these at that time. That aside, orcraider is an honest and reliable dealer; to be highly recommended.

What do you guys think of this one?
There sure have been a lot of "supposed" signed Tolkien items on eBay lately.

I think the description is nothing more or less than a shaggy dog story. Nice picture; shame about the forged signature.
Yet another signature

but even with its 'guarantee', which is completely worthless in this context, does not look very good
