The Lamb’s Farm - Gedling has sold.
I purchased it last week, prior to the Firsts London.
Just could not resist it.

That is a great item, very unusual to see an original Tolkien drawing for sale.

Peter Harrington always have the most exquisite books and items. I recommend anyone in London to visit their shops in Chelsea and Mayfair, just for the experience. They are very expensive though, and usually only stock the finest and most collectable items. But they are also an extremely nice bunch, and very knowledgable.

Absolutely wonderful to see this drawing in good hands!

When I saw the drawing 15 years ago it had a distinct brown tone and the mark in the top left corner was darker. The image in the catalogue may just have been adjusted to prevent misuse, but I wonder if has had some restoration work done.

Fortunately I was able to purchase the Sotheby’s catalogue from 2009, where Lamb’s Farm is pictured as lot 178.
It failed to sell for what I presume was the reserve.
The pictures in the catalogue are identical to the picture I now have. I presume that was probably the 15 years you mention. So it seems doubtful that any form of restoration has taken place.
