Tonight's Antiques Roadshow includes some shopping lists, with little sketches, from Pauline Baynes. They were valued at £50 - £100 each. If you want to catch it on iPlayer, it's about 30 - 35 minutes in.

I was beaten to it, but it starts at 31mins 52secs and finishes at 34mins and 16secs.
If you are in the UK you can watch it here (for the next 7 days)

Picture 3 represents Pauline (on the right) ringing the current owners Grandfather (on the left) and asking for predictions for the English Football pools.

I saw that too. Delightful! I love the reindeer. But! - note that the lists are written in >gasp< - Blue Ink!!
Does this cast doubt on their validity?

Aye, watching Antiques Road Show, as you do, and look what turns up. Tolkien also got another mention later on. First thing I thought was bet someone will have this up on TolkienGuide tonight!. And, Wellinghall promptly provides. With their especial interest in Baynes, I do hope Wayne & Christina can get a look at the clip (for all it's worth). The estimate sounded reasonable enough.

I have not done any "deep study" on this but I don't think we want to start any rumours that the imaginery
Dr Higgins knew the real
Mrs Gasch, though they have both had fake letters addressed to them signed in blue ink.
The reindeer drawing is wonderful and this is just on a shopping list, Pauline really was a superb artist.
