Hoi DmRoberts do you have a picture of the copyright page? I'm trying to keep track of known copies of this.

I do wonder if we will start to see more of these pop up as there is a little more awareness of them. My gut feel tells me there are more of them out there than it might appear from the collector's copies that we know about. There is always just an awful lot of noise to signal when hunting - I know I could only ever be bothered to look half-arsedly, occasionally having a poke through eBay. I only found mine as it was pretty much shoved under my nose, due to being local to me.
The one thing I do note about the extant copies of all impressions is that they mostly seem to have been read. Even decent condition copies tend to have the signs of use. Not always the case with more recent paperback editions. Back from the days when people actually bought books to read...
I'm glad we have evolved past such barbarism! :)

I hear you, but thank goodness for collecting (for collecting's sake) - otherwise we might not have the Cotton Nero mansuscript, and thus no Gawain...
Does this mean just the 1966 ones, or subsequent impressions? Just wondering. Have they got scarce??

See the starting post in the thread. The first (16th) printing.
Got it (the meu brought me in on the second page.)
Good to see that the fine old tradition of binding all or part of the book in upside down has its roots so long ago

Only the 16th. The others (including the 1966 17th) are fairly common - if you weren't fussed on fantastic condition, you could easily and cheaply collect them all in a few weeks, there are so many of them floating around. I've set myself the pointless collecting challenge to get them all in reasonably nice condition - a task which I expect to be (a) cheap, and (b) slow!

Ah, sorry, it's the 17th. Didn't look closely enough!
