They do look nice. It’s a shame the first box is on the snug side for fitting the books into. Hopefully they’ll correct that for new buyers if they go to further impressions. I’ll be honest and say the only reason I’m buying these is to have the John Howe imagery on the covers. And I prefer hardbacks for them rather than the paperbacks they were originally used for.
Over all, nice sets.
Over all, nice sets.

In case you are thinking of reversing the jackets.
I think they look really great with the Howe covers out as supplied. The UK HoME style covers don't work that well for me. I think the textured back-lamination (which is the same as used on many of the normal matte back-laminated jackets) just doesn't really produce a very nice finish when used on the outside (kind of outside the original design brief of the material). I did reverse a Silmarillion to put with my UK HoME, 1992 UT and 1st run POD index though. The originals are a lot more vibrant.
Looking very good, Trotter. I believe I’ve heard that the Index and the pagination of all this set, including Sil & UT, all work together now. Can you deny or confirm that please?
Thank you. I thought I’d heard that at the beginning but then no one had said so to confirm recently.
I have added a Hoarded Scrolls video to our YouTube channel now that all the books have been released.
I must say it's lovely to have them all on the shelf, especially with the other similarly-styled hardbacks - it's a handsome-looking shelf! And more importantly I've been really enjoying my reread of tHoME; it's only my second run through the entire series and as ever with Tolkien I seem to appreciate more and more every time.
