They did not usually reprint the entire jacket when repricing, the main methods were inking over the old price and printing a new price, price clipping and printing a new price or sticking a label with the new price over the old.

So in this case, I wonder if they did not print all the jackets at the same time as the book, put the price up when you print later jackets.

Agreed, the jackets in this case must have been printed in batches separate from the books and as needed to a certain extent. Not sure it adds that much more value, unless you just want it to satisfy those completist tendencies 😅

The colour is slightly different isn’t it, not as dark as the original? It’s not something I need really.

Mine are both 4.50 eek.

Lokki, there seems to be a darker colour to the first print jackets. That may be the way to tell what you have.
