I believe the set isn’t officially released until Oct 1st in the US and the 10th in the UK. Patience is a virtue 🙂

Can confirm that the Caradhras and Scouring paintings are the updated versions from the Folio edition. Just got mine in the mail today!

Everything looks great. A few of the chapter header B&W pieces are repeated, but I'm not sure if that's an error or intentional. All of the Folio illustrations are included as well.

Some of the chapter openers were repeated on the Folio 2022 as well. For instance, the first two chapters of Fellowship are identical.

I wonder if the paper is the same as the one in the four-volume 2020 illustrated box set that featured The Hobbit as well as The Lord of the Rings. In the video, it looked pretty similar, which is a good thing!

I think it is, with the only difference being the paper of the plates, which is a good thing too.

Yep. From what I see, this new one is amongst the best editions of this book ever released, in my opinion.

It will be interesting to see it directly compared next to the 1992 centenary trade edition.

Or even the 2020 set 😀
