Looking further at my set, I’ve seen something I don’t think anyone else has mentioned yet. Tell me if I’m wrong (you know you will 😆).
The ISBN is clear enough and I noticed the box and the individual books are all the same, BUT…
what’s this I see? A different ISBN that is for a signed and limited set! Can you say what this is please?
We did notice this some time ago and have been in touch with HarperCollins about it. Their response was somewhat vague, one of many projects they are considering. So as of right now it’s somewhat of a mystery.
Forgive this duplicate post from the "Unboxing" thread, but given that there was no response there I figured I might have chosen the wrong place to post it.

Greetings,
Looking at two different vendors’ sites, I see the WM edition listed as having 140 fewer pages (1,332) than the HC (1,472). Are the WM listings omitting the appendices from their page counts?

Apologies, I meant to reply over there. The books are identical except for the logos and the appendices are included. So the given numbers are inaccurate.

When I read that in my copy I emailed HC about it. They said publication date would be 19th June next year

We seem to be getting contradictory information from HarperCollins on this, I have contacted them about this for clarification.
I finally received my copy way earlier than expected, since I was told I would probably have to wait around three more weeks , Anyway I am happy to now also own this beauty ☺️
My impression is that it is a very good edition, great printing and thick acid free paper, the same as the hobbit/lotr boxed set that came a few years ago. The paintings however seem to be in higher quality here, although i don't have the other set right here to compare them.
My only possible consern is that the sprayed edges may be rubbing off ever so slightly if you are reading these books, I did at least get some slight dark discoloration on my thumbs when breaking them up.
That being said, this is probably going to be my favourite set. I am sure we will get a matching Hobbit and The Silmarillion in the coming years. Especially after what the folio society just announced.

This will probably be released next year, but the date is not certain as yet.
