I like the WM green better. The fake leather looks less fake! I do note significant stamping faults to that top gilt band, mind. I really wish HC had taken the criticism of including the booklet in the slipcase on-board or even changed the colour of the booklet. Literally no one liked the choice and they had a year to change it.

Perhaps with future reprints it may change? And, perhaps the green will change on the HC to the WM one seen in this photo.

If different paper and printing companies can change from one printing to the next; maybe colour can, too.

I doubt very much that the publisher would decide to make changes for a straight reprint. That would require mock ups and would technically become a new edition.

Agree with onthetrail, generally mockups don’t change, materials on hand of printers and or mistakes by them are what lead to variations in releases between printings like this.

I wish they would’ve changed the color of the booklet too, but alas…

I’m wondering how accurate that comparison shot is. Here’s a shot of the new WM edition on Reddit, looks very much the same color as the HC, just a better grain.

The photo posted here is very accurate. The lighting in that Reddit post is not good. Very dark. It also doesn’t have a HC volume in the shot to compare it to.

Correlation without and with flash.
