Thank you very much y'all !

After a discussion with Bergelmir, I would like to make an addendum regarding the french 'Bakshi' 1st editions. It's unclear ATM , and without access to Christian Bourgois Éditeur archives, to know if the jacketed version are more scarce than the paperboard variants. It seems the jacketed editions came a bit earlier (but again, this is not confirmed)
Only books 1 and 2 get paperboard printings, book 3 is only known as a refurbished 1st edition with a Bakshi DJ.
In any case, both variants are actually the french edition which is the more scarce and tough to find.

Wow some great treasures here! Awesome additions. I have been looking for Viga-Glums for a while. Still trying to be patient....

First of all, I wish you all a happy new year 2025 and happy collecting !
Some new acquisitions of the last months, fishing has been fruitful.
First a view of my french acquisitions :
- a bunch of the new french paperbacks by the french publisher Pocket, with consistent cover design, some are branded as collector (heavier cardboard cover with gilded motifs and titles : Hobbit, 3 volumes of LotR, Silmarillion). All are presented with promotional material (circled bannners)
- the new french hardback editions of the great tales and a new trade paperback edition of the Hobbit illustrated by J. Catlin
- Some hard to find older french editions (children editions of Smith of Wooton Major and Farmer Giles of Ham, the first volume of the Feuille de la Compagnie)
- Some scarce editions of the Lord of the rings, oversized hardcovers : The 'Pauvert' edition (1978) in one-volume, hard to find especially in fine condition ; and the 'Famot' edition (1980) in a very unusal 2 volumes reprising the same typesetting than the Pauvert (text spread over 2 columns per page, with black and white ink illustrations) but adding some colour photo inserts from the Bakshi movie, plus the movie font on the cover and spine. Very happy to add them in my collection.
- Presentation of the one volume Hardback Seigneur des anneaux edition with the 2 promotional posters (the one onthe left was offered from the 500 first pre orders, and the one on the right is a promotional poster for bookshops use).
- A french journal published last summer with a full size fold out map reproduction of the Pauline Baynes Map of Middle Earth poster
- Last, an issue of the french newspaper Le Monde from July 7th 2012, including a very interesting (and only interview to a news paper) of Christopher Tolkien in french. We can see a picture of the chair (now at Christopher's and Baillie's house) thanks to which Tolkien wrote the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.
Then, my new acquisitions of english langage editions :
- A few holes now filled (Collectors editions of the Hobbit and Silmarillion with CD, paperback of HoME with Roger Garland Covers, first prints of the Centenary paperbacks of LotR and The Silmarillion by Grafton; a 4th printing of the centenary harback Silmarillion ; the 5 books boxset Middle-Earth Collection (a tricky boxset to find)
- A very nice early impressions of the LotR First UK edition (with the elusive 4th impression of the Fellowship of the Ring with silver gilded titles on the spine, the 3rd imp. of TTT and the 4th of RotK)
- Reprint of the Sir Gawain and the Green Knight from 1963 and the first printing of the Second Hardback edition with dust jacket - not an easy find)
- Volume VII of the Tolkien Studies containing the first publication ever of 'the Story of Kullervo' by Tolkien (preceeding the Harper Collins 2015 editions), plus new studies published recently (Parma Eldalamberon 22 and 23, Cities and strongholds of Middle Earth)
- First printings of the US second editions of the Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales, not so easy to find as well. The first 3 or 4 printings of these editions are cloth quarter bound, at the opposite of the the following reprints which have a full cardboard binding.
- First US trade paperback edition of the Silmarillion (1983) : these particular copy is an advance review copy with published slip (note the wrong spelling of the "Simarillion" on the slip
- Advance uncorrected proof of the Annotated Hobbit with publisher letter and press material about the Hobbit 50th anniversary
- Deluxe edition of the Children of Hurin signed by Alan Lee and Christopher Tolkien (very happy to own this, and purchased on the exact day of Christopher's centenary birthday, hard to believe but true (!))
- Finally a true jewel : Essays presented to Charles Williams with the elusive dust jacket !
As a conclusion and little bonus, I managed to find an issue of the BNF magazine 'Chroniques', issue published during the time of the Tolkien Exhibition, with an interview of Olwe inside

What is the name and issue of "french journal published last summer with a full size fold out map reproduction of the Pauline Baynes Map of Middle Earth poster"? I couldn't tell what was the journal name versus article description.
The journal's name is "LE UN" (The one), n° 509, "Penser avec le Seigneur des anneaux"Luckyshot wrote:
