Very happy to add one of the rarest Hobbit to find.
The 3rd printing of the second US edition (1955), 7th overall, in its rust-brown variant.
The more 'common' kaki binding is already tough to come by, but the rust brown variant is known to be almost impossible to find.
This one came without its dust jacket (unfortunately) but I'm still very happy to add it to my collection.
Below some pictures, with the typo detail on page 20, line 6, where the 'e' in 'the' is not clipped (as opposed to the next printing - 8th, 1956 which also has a rust brown binding, but slightly more bright and orange, and also thinner (paper weight is 19mm for the 1955 and 17mm for the 1956).
Pictures with both : 1955 on the left, 1956 on the right.

I still miss some deluxe editions, scholarly works, and various impressions of the main works I would like to grab. Tolkien collecting is a never ending story !
Thank you !

Really nice find, there really are not that many of those floating around out there. Too bad about the jacket...

At least, I could grab the book, one day I might find the khaki variant with 2 dust jackets :D
This case might be one of the rarest case where most of the value is in the book rather than in the dust-jacket.
