how does one determine whether or not it is potentially authentic or fraudulent?

frogtown as a reputable eBay seller have done the right thing and withdrawn the sale.

That teapot is a corker! Whatever does it have to do with Tolkien, or any of his works? I notice a lot of that on etsy.com. People list items with Tolkien as a keyword even though the connection is tenuous at best; and often non-existent.

Here is an abebooks item, I think it may be the Spanish Lord of the Rings as a paperback, but why the price??????? (UK £ 64231.44 + the all important £11 postage)

Another cracking bargain from eBay (£121.50 buyitnow), it's a paperback by the way,and from Deagol's website possibly one of the rare 10,000 issues of the first printing

Missed this part of the description "Our Team aims to provide customers with good value for money"

When posting on this thread, can you please put the salient point in the post for posterity, as the eBay auctions are only available for 3 months (I edited garm's previous post to include the ludicrous price and my previous post).
