Edit: Trotter £400 bargain price
special centenary limition edition number 000789/10000 includes a centenary booklet and map, the readin of the lord of the rings on tape in very good condition 1859
But these tapes are a LIMITED EDITION - They must be worth having. And it also seems like these tapes (or "readins") were minted in 1859, so they are very early examples of the art.
Limited to 10,000 copies means that they are very,very,very.... sorry I can't think of the next word
Am I missing something here, this is very expensive for a 1st/1st but for a 1st/2nd.

Well, the seller does describe the condition as 'Acceptable'. I always wonder what that means; 'acceptable' to whom?
But later in the description, the condition is downgraded (I suppose) to 'good'.
"GEORG ALLEN & UNWIN LTD
second impression 1962
hard cover + jacket
63 + 1 page
good condition"
What's the '+1' page, I wonder?

Which is why it is a meaningless description.
The buyer has to decide for themselves if they are happy with the books condition, and they can not do that until they have received the book and looked at it.

Not quite sure what the naked lady painting in the background has to do with Hobbits...
