Hi all!
I'm new in this forum, although I follow you for some time.
As specified in the object of this topic, I'm searching for a copy of the Hobbit 2001 HarperCollins deluxe edition in black leather (ISBN:0261102575).
I was wondering if maybe someone had it for sale.
Thanks to all in advance!

Why do you want a 2nd impression?

Hi Khamul! I'm trying to build the set with the three volumes (LoTR+silmarillion+hobbit) in leather slipcase

But why do you not want to acquire the 1st impression (1999)?; why the 2001 2nd impression? If you care about these things, the 1999
was limited (to 2500 copies worldwide). There is no such statement in the 2001 impression.
That said, I bought a 2001 3rd impression of
LotRs in this format --normally I'd hold out for the 1st imp. But, it was only £40. So why not just have both?

P.S. And, the slipcases aren't leather...

You're definitely right about the 1st impression and I know that is much more collectible for the reasons you've explained.
It is my intention to buy also a 1st impression of this beautiful edition, but... now I just want a copy which matches the style of the 3rd and 4th impressions of LoTR and Silmarillion, that's all.
We can say that is a "look" question more than a "collectible" one

Yeh, I suppose that makes sense; all with the faux leather slipcases --nothing wrong with wanting tham all to look the same!
