I've just had an email from Amazon.co.uk, saying that Verlyn Flieger's "Green Suns and Faerie: Essays on J. R. R. Tolkien" is no longer available. Does anyone know anything more about this?
Thanks

I have it pre-ordered from the Book Depository. It is still showing as pending on my orders list and has not been cancelled as of yet, but it does show now as "currenty unavailable" on the main site. Must be a delayed publication.

Thanks, remy. I have now sent Verlyn an email, to ask her for an update.

On an off-topic note: I'm glad Wellinghall feels comfortable about writing of a personal correspondence between himself and a famous Tolkien scholar, without any concerns about being labelled a 'name-dropper'.
The thing is, on most other sites I can think of, this sort of frankness might be viewed as disingenuousness - but here on the Tolkien Guide, we can be confident that when one of us says something, it has the merit of being true, and not in the least insincere, nor showing-off.
Please let us know how you get on, Wellinghall.

Indeed --I was just chatting to Christopher, in regard to the publication of The Silmarillion, the other day...

Verlyn says that the book is it is in the pipeline and working toward eventual publication. Delays by the publisher over the summer have pushed the schedule far beyond its projected release date.
