According to
Deagol's website (info from
A Descriptive Bibliography, p. 386), the
magazine Show Vol.1 No.1. January 1970 includes excerpts from an interview with Tolkien (in Philip Norman's article "Lord of the Flicks").
Trying to find a copy for sale of this publication, I discovered
this listing on Amazon.com. Being cautious I asked a seller if Norman's article was included but got a negative answer. Am I just looking at a similarly entitled magazine?

I don't know about 'Lord of the Flicks', but a (legitimate)copy of Philip Norman's 'The Prevalence of Hobbits' may be found here (along with much other good stuff).
http://www.nytimes.com/specials/advertising/movies/tolkien/here's a quote from the Norman article -
At Headington, near Oxford United soccer ground, Tolkien has a study in his garage. Dark-topped tobacco tins are left like markers along his shelves; and there is a good view of the rockets if some college beanfest explodes them. "I run to the window," Tolkien confesses, "every time I hear a whoosh."

Morgan,
I still think this might be the right magazine. I have a photocopy of the interview from pg. 29 in Show (I requested a copy from ILL when I was writing my M.A. thesis) and the interview is simply titled "FROM LONDON" in large bold font with "Lord of the Flicks" in very small font. No author is stated. I imagine the seller simply didn't notice this.
I will be purchasing one of those copies of Show on Amazon (as I think it is worth a gamble), but I'll wait to allow you to have first choice as you found this.
Let me know ASAP if you are going to buy one.

And Deagol will finally have that missing picture for his website. :)
By the way, I don't know if I ever told you, Deagol, but your website is so helpful--I use it all the time before making purchases.

If it's any help, 'The Prevalence of Hobbits' first appeared in London; as 'The Hobbit Man', in the Sunday Times Magazine (15th Jan 1967). IIRC this is where we get the quote 'The world is divided into those who have read LotR, and those who are going to read it'.

Dior - I don't wish to cause you any trouble, so whenever you have time! Perhaps you remember if the cover shown on the Amazon page is the same as the one you have?

From memory, I am pretty sure the cover is different from the Image shown on Amazon. I can check later.

Morgan,
i've got my copy in front of me now (the new house is just around the corner), and it is the sane cover as the one listed on Amazon...it is. as I thought a small article on page 29; entitled 'From London' in red lettering, with Lord of the flicks in small lettering underneath.. the seller probably missed it.
