Is there anything at all special about the book itself? Looks like a really normal oversized hardback; which is nice, but...

The binding is completely different - I will have both in hand on Monday and will give a detailed comparison. I was expecting the signature page to be bound in, I must say, though. I am not certain there are any other differences.

So the book itself isn't signed? That's really quite unconventional. I can't say I'm particularly impressed, looking at these pictures. I mean, it's nice; but not for the price.

My wife just adopted another 3 cats -£335 will probably feed them for a week (given they apparently now have a taste for roast free-range chicken). Sigh.

Seeing that the book itself is not signed, its appeal to me is almost zero. The binding would be my only reason to get this, but really for me it’s not worth it for just that aspect at this price point.
As for the facsimiles, they’re alright I suppose - nice to look at once, but then they’d be put away and probably never looked at again.
As Stu said, maybe if I had made the trip I’d have bought it on impulse from being caught up in the whole extravaganza and as a memento of a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
But all things said and done, really easy pass for me on this one.
Thanks for sharing the pics, Jeremy. I’ll still look forward to the pics and review of your personal copy.

The deluxe edition looks nice, but I agree with several others that there is nothing particular inviting about this edition for the high price.
For those interested, Amazon US does have the regular hardback available for pre-order, which is supposed to be released on July 15th.

I did make the trip to the exhibition and did not buy the Deluxe edition, for a start the hardback edition is really, really high quality, and I can not justify the difference in the price. I also think that these will not all sell at that price and will be discounted.

Possibly. But probably not until after the exhibition ends it’s US run in 2019.
