Merlin Unwin have an active Instagram account worth having a look at - and you will also find a much better photo of the Tolkien bust made by Faith Faulconbridge here; and the picture Trotter mentioned with some explanatory text is to be found here.
As I just checked with their website an "epub" option is now available but it as the only information on this seems to be isPOD: noPOD (?) I would not want to buy this yet. I am not going to support a Big A or Apple only option but am hoping it is a full-flegded, open epub.
The official release date for the ePub version is June 1st but it does appear that it is now available on their website for ordering.

The note you found just says the ePub is not Print On Demand (go figure ?)

Blackwell's has this for now:
What basically means because it is not for sale _right now_ it is not compatible with Kindle?
ADDENDUM: The entries on different pages are really odd.
Blackwell's has 2018 as the publishing date for the hardback; the British National Bibliography has £14.99 for the epub, not £30 as the publisher says.
- Read on your eReader, tablet, mobile, MAC or desktop PC.
- Currently not compatible with Amazon Kindle.

Olwe has a wonderful set of posts, including a very nice submission from Merlin Unwin, over on his patreon. Well worth reading!
Thank you for your kind words!
I would also like to let you lot know that only a very, very small number of the signed editions are still available. So if anyone is still hesitating I highly suggest you write to Merlin Unwin today.
