I don't know if this is really bothering anyone anymore, but the visibilty of where you are in the forum (i.e. what sub-forum) is nowhere visible (unless I'm missing something?) if you only navigate using the "Recent Activity" sidebar. So, for example, right now this post is where? I have no forum reference point at all now. Doesn't really matter, but I used to fuss over where people posted stuff all the time. I now pay little attention to this as a mod.

As example: the "Wonders" thread has disappeared off the map (last post: Sept) because people are dumping everything in the "Interesting" thread; which used to be reserved for actual interesting stuff not just nonsense listings. Having a closer look (maybe I should do this more often?) the "General" thread is littered with posts which are almost exclusively about printed matter e.g. books; which has its own specific sub-forum. There are people manually posting in the "New eBay listings submitted" thread (& discussing) which I thought was meant to be TCG-bot generated based on people posting elsewhere on the forum? There's not enough of us or enough traffic for this to be important, but if there was...

I'd also like some means of being able to pin favourite threads so that forum users can see them and think I might want to post in that thread.

This topic is public. ? And I agree that visibility needs to be improved.

The forum structure is intentional (but not cleanly done yet) - I experimented with hiding most of the forum structure when the site was redesigned, and people seem to be interacting more (and new users are posting more) since it is less overwhelming.

My plan is that you can choose visibility (if you are able to) when you post - all, Fellowship/members only, or moderator only and then just post without having to think for a while about which forum is really belongs in. Too many grey areas and too few posts to have that level of complexity.

Finding older posts will get easier in time as well as I get a few ideas in place.

Not fully following this - you can currently make threads sticky in the various forums, so they stay on the top of the list. Is that what you are talking about? Or a "popular threads" widget on the right side? Or a "tag user x in this thread so they get a notification that I want their attention here"?

The tagging idea is about half completed - won't go live until I have all the notification kinks worked out (including giving users full control over their notifications).
