Forthcoming later this year - October 6, 2020 is the planned publication date.
Booksellers incorrectly mark this as a paperback set but it is three volume hardcover in a slipcase. Pictures of the actual set will be added when available.
Just to clarify (it can be assumed, but just in case) - this will essentially be a mirrored edition to what HarperCollins has been offering for quite some time. Still, good to see an American edition become available in the US.
For those unfamiliar:
Part I: Books 1-5 Part II: Books 6-9 Part III Books 10-12
I have been informed that eBook versions of all twelve books will be released in the USA (finally!) sometime later this year, as well.
And yes, there is no new material or 2nd edition updates - this is all the same material that has been in print for ages, but these formats will hopefully be well appreciated in the USA.
Single editions of the three volumes seem to go for around $80, making this set cost-effective, but I have to wonder: why so expensive to begin with? In non-deluxe treatments such as these (to my knowledge, these are large, heavy hardbacks, but no leather, fine cloth, etc.), one normally only sees this level of price in textbooks. The page count is huge, but even then, I would expect perhaps $40 each/$100-$120 for the set, not $80/$225.

I imagine this set will come down and the price is simply to capture some revenue in the early sales period.
I must argue that $225 for 5440 pages is very reasonable, especially considering the 2 decades that went into the compiling and editing of some of the most complicated and disorganised manuscripts ever thrown together, or not together as the case often was. 4c a page? I think the trouble is that the Amazon's of the world have devalued items to the point that consumers think an honest price for a product is too high.
