I don't know how many were issued, but I bought a copy last year (April 2020) and I just checked it: it states it's a 12th impression.
Hope it helps.
Yep, that's perfect - it was just one of those curiosity questions, as to whether there was a giant first print that took years to run out or if it had periodic reprints. Question answered!

Has anyone got a copy of this (2006 UT) marked "2". The reason I ask is that I have one copy marked "I" and I have one marked "II", but I got the one marked "II" in March 2009 (direct from HarperCollins), and I can't see any real likelihood that there would have been 11 printings in 3 years, given the (2007) Silmarillion I got in the same order was marked as being the first. I'm wondering if "II" was supposed to be "2".
