New limited Ukrainian anniversary edition of “Hobbit”

I have recently received the new anniversary edition of “Hobbit” (35 years since the first Ukrainian translation / 85 years since the first original publication).

What I have to say is that this new edition is marvelous in each it’s detail. For 11 USD price it’s just a bargain! Here is the direct link to it Direct link to the book an the publisher's site

Being one of those who owns the most of HarperCollins original titles in DeLuxe editions, I should acknowledge that the balance price/quality in Ukrainian editions of Tolkien’s books is the best. Nothing to compare with that more and more evaporating “balance” in HarperCollins editions.

Just look at this gorgeous book: highest quality thick paper, rigid book covers, dustcover, vivid colors, a bookmark, and the most interesting thing is that each book has its own number (in the end of book on the page preceding the endpapers) coinciding with the numbered inserted page with signatures of the translator and of the project director. If my memory doesn’t fail me this idea was implemented first time in Ukrainian translations Tolkien publishing history.

Most of the illustrations inside the book are in black and white (except 5 ones), but it’s still a wonderful edition.

I’m tempted to see the forthcoming editions of Tolkien books from my favorite Ukrainian publisher.
