Your friendly hosts of TCG have decided to organize a semi-regular meetup online (eg using Zoom) for collectors from around the world to chat, share their finds, ask questions, and help each other out. You may have participated in some of our previous online meetups, and these will be no different - just a bit more regular.
We will having these meetings under the umbrella of Mazarbûl, an official Smial of the Tolkien Society. We've been doing lots of activities with the Society already, and it just made sense to make things a little more official. For example, Trotter is hosting a collecting meetup at Oxonmoot on Friday, and I'm hosting one in the wee hours on Saturday night/Sunday morning. As these are an official part of the Oxonmoot programming, they are only open to attendees, but we will have many more that are more open, and soon.
You do not need to be a member of the Tolkien Society to be a member of the Smial! You also don't need to be a member of the Smial to have an account here at TCG and participate in the forums and other activities.
We really look forward to seeing some or all of you at one of our meetups soon! Watch this space for more information, activities and announcements. In the coming weeks I'll share more information on how to indicate your interest and how this will all work. We are aiming to have ~monthly meetups, with rotating hosts between us so different time zones have a good chance of catching at least some.
