Tolkien sends the last two colour drawings for the American edition of The Hobbit and asks GA&U to send it on to Houghton Mifflin. he also asks about a fee, no matter how small would help him out.

He also encloses comments on the dustjacket flap copy for The Hobbit including errors and includes a revised version of the blurb.

The 2023 Revised edition of Letters adds three sentences at the end where Tolkien tries to ease the blow of critiquing Furth's drafted dust-jacket blurb.
