Father Christmas, writing to Christopher and Priscilla, thanks them for their many letters. He says that he has not had time like previous letters to write them longer letters, though nothing exciting has happened. He hopes they enjoy their gifts from him and that they are close enough to their lists.
He says that after the attacks from the Goblins last year, they have not had any within 200 miles. They spent the rest of the year, and into the summer before all of the repairs were made.
FC says they have brought a tree from Norway and planted it in the ice pool. He has drawn a picture for them, but remarks that it does not show how big it is. He says that Polar Bear started the drawing, to help him, but he left big blotches on it that can be seen when help up to the light.
FC adds a letter to Priscilla, wishing her a Merry Christmas and thanking her for the nice letters she sent to him. He asks if she can read his letter by herself, and says it is his best writing.
