Whoa! --£500+ again for this edition. I was very interested to see what this went for in an entirely open auction i.e. low start, no reserve, no option to buy, no best offer, etc. Still don't think it's worth this amount, what with it having been RRP £100 only fifteen years ago.

I sure hope, for the buyer's sake, it really was a 1998 Super Deluxe Silmarillion --& not just some other "deluxe" in shrinkwrap!

I expect that the buyer will never take it out of the wrap, so they will be none the wiser :)

I put in a bid for 250, but that was more a token effort as it was always going to be a 500+ sale, given the recent sales history of these and that it was posted up here.

It is odd for it to command such a high price, mind, given that the SD CoH still hasn't sold out the same number of copies after 6.5 years at half the price.

Here is one you dont see too often.
Not sure what reserve is but currently at £120 odd which is a good price.
Suspect it will go for double that though

Seriously, would someone buy the above highlighted auction!

The total, including postage, is £16.98. With current postal rates it wouldn't surprise me if it cost nearly that to post these books, as they are enormous! It's a pretty nice set.
