So AL signs this book (probably in Forbidden Planet or something; I don't recall) on the day after publication (which was the 17th, if I recall correctly). Yet, he signs a 3rd impression. Possible, I'm sure; but I don't recall CoH going into a 3rd impression pre-publication...

I've been continuing to record (amongst other titles) the prices realised for copies of The Silmarillion. Prices have actually been riding quite high for a while. No idea why.

High prices are probably an effect of the awful Hobbit movies.

Indeed, but the films haven't normally effected Silmarillion prices. Maybe this time they have.

Spotted this yesterday, what a horror! I've seen people on Facebook discussing this monstrosity too. My biggest complaint is the very unprofessional binding attempt (lumpy, not labeled well) but the condition of the innards doesn't entice me either.

I can see what they were trying to achieve - the lumps are the internal structure of the Hobbit Hole. Sadly, it all doesn't work very well.

I'm not sure why, but it seems like this copy of LotR went for a lot more than it is actually worth.
