Notwithstanding that CT does have a couple of different distinct (but consistent) styles of signatures that he uses, I don't know anyone that can't remember how to sign their own name, and forms the characters and links between characters differently each time they try.
How anyone can think it is OK to sell something like this (with the usual "?" disclaimer about the signature is beyond me). It seems to be standard practice for people to list forgeries and just indemnify themselves by sticking a few question marks in the listing.
Signed by who?
I have no idea

I have referred this to the Tolkien Estate, sadly Alan Formhal's very rubbish fake signatures are better than this junk.

Not sure why anyone would want a copy of The Hobbit signed by random (in this context) other people...
I saw that one too, Stu. Had to actually look up who the people were, if I'm being honest. This sort of thing can be interesting (to some), but not at that kind of price.

They are hardbacks, but you may spot a problem with this set of The Lord of the Rings

They bought it for a £1, as in the photos, so paying £195 to buy it should be no problem
