How can anyone really see how good that jacket is with the protective jacket cover? It might not be that good when you get it front of you. Either way, I think the price is stupidly high, given, as Stu says, the current market. I've got plenty in this kind of condition...

Exactly right - The mylar cover should be well and truly off when taking pictures with the purpose of selling a book. All but the worst jackets look good once they have has a nice, shiny protector on them.
And lets be honest, out of the 250,000 (?) first printings of the Sil., there must still be quite a lot of them in as new condition. The key thing seems to just be to keep them away from UV.

Edit: This auction is odd - note two tiny pictures of two completely different books. Buyer beware.
Edit2: The buyer has put up some actual pictures (dodgy quality), but probably genuine.
[But yes, I accept the auction could just be a product of an inexperienced user, and the user has inadvertently done a bunch of flag-raising things]

A little harsh Stu.
This is a new seller to ebay (joined Nov 14) and judging by description /headings hasn't quite got the pace of it yet. Hi descriptions aren't great for sure but we all know what its like doing something new - you don't get it right first time.
Not sure its a scam but just someone who hasn't got to grips with eBay adding pictures with one incorrect click of a button.
(Ps Don't know seller in any way at all)

Well, after I contacted the seller he has put up some pictures which are more likely to be real.
I certainly wouldn't suggest anyone bid without making enquiries/items being amended first for sure.

In a sensible world, that would be worth nothing at all.
