This one from Hyraxia Books annoys me, because I politely gave them the correct print run numbers for the books (as supplied by HarperCollins), but they didn't even have the courtesy to respond, never mind update their listing to remove the untrue "reported to be limited to 1000 copies (by who???)" claim.
(They are also having a laugh with the price. 4th Impression LOTR is very common and can be had for 30 pounds (last one I saw actually went for AU$30, one before that 30 pounds). The Silmarillion is a 60-70 pounds book (max) and the second impression Hobbit similar).
The pricing doesn't bother me, mind, as anyone can ask what they like - just the false limitation claim. It is like the Peoples of Middle-Earth pulping claims that dealers like to throw out there, even though five seconds on Google shows them it isn't true.

I agree it is quite hard to find as evidenced by the first post in this thread, though this would be to much for even a collector such as myself :)

If it sells, then quite honestly, I'll probably put my copy up for sale for 400. It is in better condition than that one :)
Edit: looks like it sold off eBay. Wonders how much it went for (Laurel???)
A lovely copy, apart from the hint that sticky tape may be all over the book, It looks like the book may be completely covered by this, and no dustjacket :)

I need to buy at least two hats.
The verse is signed at the bottom "Tolkien",I am not sure which member of the Tolkien family may have written this
The answer is none, whoever wrote it is stating that they think it may be a Tolkien quote :(

Makes a nice change from "Near Fine", which seems to be the default claim that most book dealers make for their books these days, no matter how damaged the book might be.
