I understand that the State of California is looking at a law that would allow people who have been sold fake autographed items, to claim punitive damages from the seller, up to ten times what the item sold for.
I think this is a great idea to stop forgers from faking autographs, hope the rest of the US and other countries look at this as well.
You can see in the link Mark Hamill stating that 50-90% of his 'autographs' on eBay are fake, and he is not happy about it.
