I wonder how close it will get to the £1600 that the current owner paid for it a couple of months ago. Been steadily dropping from that absurd £6000(ish) price that it was initially listed at...
(FWIW, as I'm watching it, I got an offer of a discounted BIN of £2100 a week or so ago).
Do those vouchers eBay occassionally throw your way count on big ticketed items like this e.g. if you had a 5% discount are they really going to knock another hundred off of an item like this?

Don't know - never had one. I assume any discount basically comes out of the sellers eBay fees.
On the subject of the book, I notice that the jacket on this copy appears to be a little taller than the boards of the book itself. Is this a common problem with the 1942? Trotter - what is the fitment like on yours?
This was a prev ebay sale at around £1600 , might help ? I have used a voucher before and it comes off the sale value. There was max amount i think , cant recall what it was though

The dust-jacket fits exactly, though GA&U having made the book a smaller size, cut off part of the Runes at the top and bottom of the book. The doctored dust-jacket is the same size as the book binding.

Yeah, I thought yours was cut down correctly. I don't have any faith in the "doctored copy" representing anything (although other than the spine, I think it is all legit). Would be interesting to know if this one is just a one-off that didn't get cut down quite so far or if there was a whole batch of jackets that were a little large.

Same copy as this one, just getting resold by the buyer who is a dealer.
This is all quite interesting as it is showing just how tiny the market for something like this is unless the condition/price combination are just right.
