Thanks to Michael Flowers for this.
Something appears to have happened to BBC genome overnight. If you type in a name you are interested in it now provides links to audio files of all the related programmes currently available. This results in programmes which didn’t always come up when searching on BBC Sounds. As an example, last month I compiled a list of Tolkien related programmes for the Tolkien Society in lockdown, now if you put in “Tolkien” you are provided with links to programmes which I failed to locate last month on BBC Sounds.https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/explorer/search/0/10?q=Tolkien

Thanks for posting Trotter. I really enjoy listening to some of the old radio broadcasts.
Meridian 11 September 1981 describes Tolkien as writing "
long dark fairy-tales like The Lord of the Rings". There is a short extract from the BBCs radio adaptation in the introduction and at the 22 minutes there is a piece on
The Letters Of J. R. R. Tolkien is treated with a short interview with Humphrey Carpenter.

Thanks
Trotter, I finally got around to listening to that one. Very interesting.
I am not religious but I found
Beyond Belief interesting enough. A couple of personal memories, Joseph Pierce offers some memories from his time at Oxford at the 9:40 mark.

My apologies. Clearly I meant Robert Hardy.
