Did I not read somewhere that the PoD volumes which do have barcodes, have oversized barcodes on the DJ? Also, bizarre that the index wouldn't have one... I'm assuming it's still glued like the rest?
Comparing the Index barcode with my 1st edition hardcovers does show that it is much larger. I don't have any PODs of volumes 1-12 (as I have 1st editions), and there is no 1st edition Index, so this isn't a perfect comparison, but hopefully helpful nonetheless.
The Index is a glued binding, yes.
Just as an aside, the dust jackets themselves are batch-printed, rather than being printed on demand. Not necessarily relevant, but I thought I would mention it.
