I was out working on my Rabbit fencing and looked over at the mountains. They looked very "Blue Wizards" today...

Queenstown in Aotearoa - New Zealand. The mountain range is The Remarkables. Just right of the midpoint on the picture was used for the Dimril Gate and Dale in PJs Fellowship. Amazing looking place when there is a bit of snow on the top and some moody low cloud! This is the best time of year as everything is green and contrasting -- tends to brown off in the summer.

Hi Stu! I was in NZ five years ago (October 2015) and, after reading your post, I felt like browsing the photos I took during that amazing trip. I found this one, taken from the Skyline Gondola in Queenstown. Are The Remarkables on the background?

As if I needed another reason to fetishize Kiwi life.

Ha Yeah. We have our problems (inequality, stupidly high house prices), but we mostly have it pretty good (socialised healthcare, nice views, no COVID). Right now, in the current global circumstances there is nowhere I'd rather be. The rabbits breed like orcs, though..

NZ does not disappoint. I took a student group there a few years ago starting in Auckland and driving south to Queenstown over the course of 3 weeks. I think north to south is the way to go as the scenery just becomes more stunning. Perhaps my favorite spot was the Marlborough Sounds region, specifically the autumn colors of the vineyards with rolling hills stretching to the tall peaked mountains in the far distance. Queenstown is on many of the "elite bugout" lists according to online sources.
